After a good night’s sleep, I started the next morning with a walk in the small village. The walk was also small, since you can walk from one end of Plaka to the other in less than 20 min.
I decided to have my breakfast at the little café; The Island, on the main road. I sat under a huge Carob tree and had a fresh orange juice and an omelet. It was simple, but delicious. It was really windy that day. Also the night before. So I started having doubts about going to Spinalonga that same day. But when I looked at the weather report it looked like the next day would be the same or maybe even worse.
So I went down to the little harbour with the boats to Spinalonga. I picked the one on the South side of town. There’s also one on the North side. There’s no schedule. The boats starts around 8 o clock and just goes back and forward all day. It’s only a 5-10 min boatride from Plaka to Spinalonga and it costs 8 euro for the returnticket…
